But Skyrim SE will look better at the cost of performance. Skyrim LE will have better performance than Skyrim SE. I suppose it ultimately depends on how you want to play Skyrim.

Even if modding for Skyrim LE totally ended today, there are still a lot of mods to choose from.

But some modders may only develop new mods just for Skyrim SE since that means they would not need to maintain / update two different versions of the same mod. I would say that Skyrim LE still has more mods for it than Skyrim SE. Note, I have not played Beyond Skyrim Bruma yet. Mods that are being developed in the Beyond Skyrim project are generally the exception, not the rule. This uses a lot of RAM and from what I have read a lot of performance issues in Skyrim LE that the team of modders for the entire Beyond Skyrim project decided to not release any more Beyond Skyrim mods for Skyrim LE.
"Open" cities means there is no load screen when you walk into a city because the city and the wilderness exists together in the game at the same time. In Skyrim all cities are "closed" which means when you enter a city like Whiterun the game will go through a load screen process where all the data for the open world is erased from RAM while data for Whiterun is loaded into RAM. On the other hand, Beyond Skyrim Bruma is a pretty massive mod that adds a new landmass and other assets into the game as well as making most of the cities "open". Interesting NPCs is a large mod because it mostly includes thousands of lines of dialogue, but only the dialogue that need to be spoken will be loaded in RAM. There are many mods that are pretty large such as Interesting NPCs and Beyond Skyrim Bruma both are a little more than 2.1GB in size which can affect performance. On the other than the 64-bit engine of Skyrim SE technically means the game can use all of the available RAM your laptop has for the game itself (excluding graphic textures) and the mods installed. The more mods that are installed the more RAM Skyrim will need, and that also depends on how much RAM each mod will need. The primary difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit game engine is Skyrim LE is unable to use more than 4GB of RAM (excluding graphic textures). Skyrim SE is a bit more stable than Skyrim LE. Skyrim SE has a more stable 64-bit engine compared to the more dated 32-bit engine used by Skyrim LE.

It should run Skyrim LE (or Oldrim) at 1080p with high settings at 50+ FPS. Elder Scrolls Reading Club (Community Playthrough)Ī laptop with a MX250 is probably good enough to run Skyrim SE at 1080p and medium with around 30 to 35 FPS in my opinion.Tag your submissions!
